In Bootlegger, two women fall out over whether or not to ban the sale of alcohol on their northern Quebec reserve. Directed and co-written by Algonquin filmmaker Caroline Monnet, the film screens as part of the 22nd imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival. The festival showcases film, video, audio, and digital + interactive media made by Indigenous screen-content creators. Forty-six short films are also screening with the fest as part of an online shorts program series Oct. 19-24.
