Five people stabbed in drunken brawl in Vancouver’s Yaletown
Five people have been stabbed in a violent brawl in Vancouver’s Yaletown neighbourhood on the weekend.
Vancouver Police said it received several 911 calls about a fight that broke out near Davie Street and Mainland Street around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
At least five men were seriously hurt with stab wounds that required hospitalization, although police say there may be more injuries that went unreported as many of the people left without speaking to officers.
“It appears this was an altercation between two groups of intoxicated men who had come to Vancouver to party,” said Vancouver Police Department spokesman Sgt. Steve Addison in a statement issued Monday.
