Justin Bieber inspired caged and tortured teen to escape house of horrors
A 21-year-old girl who escaped from home and helped free her tortured siblings from their sick parents’ prison has thanked Justin Bieber for inspiring her.
Jordan Turpin and her 12 brothers and sisters were held captive by their parents, who beat, starved, and caged their children.
She managed to find an escape route in January, 2018 – when she was 17 – and ran to seek help from the police in Perris, California.
Officials found the house full of garbage and excrement, while some of the siblings, whose ages ranged from two to 29, were shackled to their beds. Severely malnourished, some had physical conditions such as heart problems. All had limited knowledge of the outside world.
Turpin and her older sister Jennifer sat down for a ratings-busting TV chat with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer, which aired on Friday night’s 20/20 news show, and in a follow-up interview on Good Morning America on Monday, Jordan publicly thanked Bieber for inspiring her to escape the so-called house of horror.
