100 Amigos Exhibition provides friendly space to see new creations from local artists

The original inspiration for the show appeared in 2006 when El Kartel owner and graphic artist Pablo Zamudio was shopping at a local art store.

“I saw this one-foot-by-one-foot canvas and I was like this is great. I thought how about I’ll have a show with 30 artists, no 40 artists and then how about 100?” said Zamudio during a recent phone call from Mexico. “I remember I just loaded my Jeep with 100 canvases, and I started calling all my artist friends.

“I called it 100 Amigos. It was a huge success. It was a beautiful show, so I kept doing it.”
