Deanna Dikeman: Leaving and Waving Until April 2
As We Rise: Photography from the Black Atlantic Until May 14
For 27 years since 1991, Deanna Dikeman took photographs as she waved goodbye and drove away from visiting her parents at their home in Sioux City, Iowa. In Leaving and Waving, a photographic narrative reveals changing seasons and the growth of Dikeman’s son as her camera marks the passage of time, aging and mortality.
In the international touring exhibition As We Rise, more than 100 photographs from African diasporic culture from both sides of the Atlantic, from the 1930s Harlem Renaissance through post-colonial Bamako to contemporary Toronto, are on view.
