Former B.C. MMA fighter wanted for firearms offences and breach of probation
A former B.C. mixed martial arts fighter with a history of drug, gun and theft offences is wanted again for multiple firearms charges, possession of stolen property and breaches of a release order.
Ryan Timothy Chiappe, 44, held a career 10-8 record as a welterweight under the handle Ryan “Ruthless” Chiappe, but hasn’t been in a sanctioned MMA event in a decade.
Since then, he’s been in and out of court in Prince George, Kelowna and Metro Vancouver on charges including drug trafficking, uttering threats and breaches of probation.
He and co-accused Priscilla Paquette got jail time in 2017 after being convicted of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking. Chiappe was also handed a 10-year firearms prohibition.
In 2014, he was barred from his hometown of Prince George after being charged with assault and the theft of a puppy. He got two years’ probation on those charges. By then, police in Prince George said they had had nearly 100 interactions with Chiappe over the years. He has also lived in Metro Vancouver and Kelowna.
