‘High-altitude airborne object’ shot down over Yukon, on Justin Trudeau’s orders
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ordered the takedown Saturday of “a high-altitude airborne object” that NORAD detected over Northern Canada.
Trudeau announced he ordered a military strike on the object, which was hovering over the Yukon, in a Tweet Saturday afternoon.
Both Canadian and U.S. forces were scrambled in response, but a U.S. fighter jet was successful at firing at the object.
“Canadian Forces will now recover and analyze the wreckage of the object. Thank you to NORAD for keeping watch over North America,” Trudeau said.
