Katy Perry accused of ‘mom shaming’ a 25-year-old American Idol contestant

Katy Perry’s response to a young mother with three kids has earned her the title of a “mom shamer.”

In an episode that aired this month, one of the contestants to audition for the 31st season of American Idol was Sara Beth Liebe from California. Even before she started singing, the 25-year-old earned praise for her youthful appearance with one of the judges, Luke Bryan, saying she looked 16.

To this Liebe replied, “You guys are my favourite. I have three kids.”

The reaction of fellow judge Perry was far from flattering.

Liebe’s revelation caused “Katy to make a shocked face, get up and slowly melt onto the judges’ desk. ‘If Katy lays on the table,’ Liebe said excitedly, ‘I think I’m going to pass out,’” reports E News. Perry responded, “Honey, you’ve been laying on the table too much.”
