A: I was able to stay pretty busy. We pivoted my history of Motown school show for K-12 students from in-person presentations to videos. We go through the history along with some Civil Rights-era information. And I sing a bunch of medleys of Motown artists. Most of the time we start the show and the kids are like, No, we don’t know Motown, or just 20 per cent do. Then at the end I ask, Who knows Motown? And everyone puts their hands up at the end. It’s really cute.

Q: Are there some Motown songs that the kids are more familiar with than others?

A: Yeah. It’s usually the Jackson 5, ABC or I Want You Back. And Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.

Q: That last one seems odd.

A: I know. It must be in some kind of kids’ movie. But they know it. And I do some really cheesy dance moves to it, and they really get into it. Even if they’re in high school.
