Makeover: Getting rid of that grey
Mariana Krpan was tired of covering her grey roots and was ready for a major style change.
The 54-year-old has long and naturally wavy hair. It had been previously coloured and highlighted but after being away on vacation it became dry and faded. She was looking for a colour that would not only blend out her natural grey but also stretch out her colour appointments.
I started by placing baby foils throughout her hair, using an ash-blond lightener, to mimic the look of her natural silver hair. I then applied a demi-permanent colour to her mid-lengths and ends to match her natural brown hair. After I rinsed out the colour, I refined her highlights with an all-over cool-beige toner; resulting in a beautiful, shimmery and dimensional look.
I cleansed her hair with Oribe Gold Lust Repair and Restore Shampoo and Conditioner and layered her mid-lengths and ends with Oribe Crème For Style, for flexible all-day hold and frizz control. I eliminated several inches from her length and incorporated textured layers and a full fringe to frame her eyes and to soften her hairline. I blow dried her hair with a paddle brush and played up her texture using a curling then finished the style using Oribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray.
