North Vancouver woman killed in crash between bike and dump truck

Police in North Vancouver are looking for witnesses and dash-cam footage after a cyclist was killed in a collision with a dump truck on Monday morning.

North Vancouver RCMP officers were heading to another incident when they happened upon the crash at about 10:30 a.m. at Lonsdale Avenue and 23rd Street.

They tried life-saving measures but the woman, a North Vancouver resident in her 40s, was pronounced dead by medical personnel soon after, said RCMP Const. Mansoor Sahak in a news release.

Sahak said the driver of the commercial vehicle remained at the scene and is co-operating. The RCMP traffic unit and crash analysts are investigating and the cause has not been determined.

Anyone who saw the collision or has video that might help with the investigation is asked to call North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311.
