Only A Visitor hones in on sonic growth on Decay
Robyn Jacob certainly keeps busy bringing different types of music to listeners.
From the Indonesian classical music explored by the DIY Gamelan Bike Bike orchestra to the multidisciplinary Publik Secrets arts collective and adventurous duo with harpist Elisa Thorn called the Giving Shapes, the Vancouver-based composer, musician and educator pops up all over the scene.

Formed in 2015, with the goal of “fusing together avant-pop, jazz, classical and DIY influences, and substituting guitar with three-part harmonies,” the group of Jacob, drummer Kevin Romain, bassist Jeff Gammon and vocalists Emma Postl and Celina Kurz, has performed at such events as the Montreal Jazz Festival to cool local indie venues.
