Pedophile drinks sodium nitrate and dies following guilty verdict

A sex offender killed himself in a Texas courtroom by drinking sodium nitrite after a jury found him guilty.

Edward Leclair, 57, began chugging the cloudy liquid from a water bottle after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a child.

Leclair continued drinking as the other four counts were read in the 16th District Court in Denton, Tex., on Aug. 11, 2022.

He was taken back to his cell where he collapsed and died soon after.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office announced on Tuesday that cause of death was suicide resulting from toxic effects of sodium nitrite, according to the Daily Mail.
