PNE Summer Nights concert lineup announced: Billy Idol, TLC, Tenille Townes and more

TLC, Boney M, Billy Idol, Doug and the Slugs — the 2023 PNE Summer Nights concert series is loaded with fan favourites, fun surprises and even rappers Yung Gravy and bbno$.

There is a little bit of everything booked for the annual fair. Creative director Patrick Roberge says the theme of this year is “over-the-top summer fun.”

“Aqua, Boney M, Pink Martini and the Stars of Drag … reflect that seasonal release and having a great time,” he said. “There are a lot of concerts to choose from, but the PNE is unique because you can come down, enjoy fair, have some food and then finish off your night with an open air summer concert.”

Some familiar fan favourites making another trip to the PNE include Boyz II Men and Blue Rodeo, who will be closing out the fair on the 30th anniversary tour of the band’s acclaimed album 5 Days in July. Even the title fits the season.

“TLC and Boyz II Men are a few of those acts that people keep on requesting us to bring back, and now Blue Rodeo have become one of those groups as well,” he said. “But the truth is, things can very quickly become tradition, so you have to pay attention to keep it fresh. Having Blue Rodeo end the series with that particular album being celebrated is really going to be a great closer.”
