Possible gang shooting in Coquitlam Wednesday evening
A person has been shot in front of a sushi restaurant in Coquitlam.
According to a source, the person was gunned down near the intersection of Coast Meridian Road and David Avenue in Burke Mountain on Wednesday at around 7 p.m. Lifesaving attempts were made but there is no word on the victim’s condition.
Police investigating the scene were concentrating on a small circular table outside Hiraku Sushi and a Subway store that had a cell phone left on it.
A burned out vehicle was found shortly after near Colony Farm in Port Coquitlam. It is a common gangland practice for an assassin to destroy their getaway car by burning it. This has happened dozens of times in Metro Vancouver over the last decade.
Coquitlam RCMP have asked people to stay away from the area of David Avenue at Coast Meridian Road “due to an ongoing police incident.”
