Save the date: Music on Main and SFU Woodward’s present Graveyards and Gardens
Graveyards and Gardens is described as “a multidisciplinary exploration of the evolution of memory.”
Pretty heady stuff and the work co-commissioned by Music on Main and SFU Woodward’s Cultural Programs will appear on stage at the Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre at SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts on April 12-15. Tickets are on sale from $18 at musiconmain.ca.
The work was created by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw and Vancouver-based choreographer Vanessa Goodman, and incorporates elements of both sound and dance in a live setting.
The livestream premiere was first shown in January 2021. The fully evolved version that will be presented this month includes everything from vintage lamps and cassette players to 400 feet of orange cables and more.
