Save the date: Vancouver Opera 2023/24 season includes Mozart, Donizetti and Bizet
The Vancouver opera wants you to step into a world of wonder this season.
Without question, opening with Mozart’s the Magic Flute in October will take fans on a fantastical voyage through time and romance.
Donizetti’s Don Pasquale will have folks laughing in the aisles with its opera buffa/comic opera tale in Feb. 2024, while Bizet’s classic romance Carmen will wind things up in April/May 2024.
Returning this season will be Arts Club Theatre Company AD Ashlie Corcoran directing the Magic Flute. Previously, she directed the Barber of Seville in 2020. Other highlights include the “20th Century Technicolor” makeover of Don Pasquale and The Pearl Fishers’ director Rachel Peake joining conductor Leslie Dala for Carmen.
Families are encouraged to come to Opera in the Park on July 16, 3 p.m., in Deer Lake Park.
