Surrey Mounties investigating shots fired in Surrey

Mounties are investigating a shooting Thursday night in the Newton area of Surrey.

Shortly after 9 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 12400-block of 79A Avenue.

Police say they are still in the early stages of the investigation, and they are trying to determine a possible motive for the shooting.

Officers continue to conduct neighbourhood canvassing. There are no reports of injuries at this time.
