The Royal Conservatory of Music announces several B.C. finalists for Music Lights the Way Piano Festival

Eight young B.C. talents have been chosen to participate in the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Music Lights the Way Piano Festival.

With over $150,000 in prizes to be won provided by Yamaha, the finale at Koerner Hall in Toronto on March 21 will be a showcase of rising stars. The grand prize winner will take home a Yamaha grand piano, which should be a challenge for luggage handlers.

Over 8,000 participants from Canada and the U.S. were involved, so the eight B.C. players should all be seen as winners already. They are named here with links to their performance videos, or you can visit rcmusic.com/finalists.

Vancouver: Brandon Matthew Lee, age 10, Layla Deng, age 12 Alicia Adole, age 13

North Vancouver: Claire Leung, age 6, Jasmine Joos, age 11
