Vancouver-based Alexis Sides brings comic relief to Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies prequel series
Vancouver-based actor Alexis Sides plays Potato, a member of the teen boy gang the T-Birds, in Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies. A prequel series to the 1978 movie Grease, the locally shot show debuts on Paramount+ on April 6.
We talked to the Guadalajara-born, Cabo San Lucas-raised actor about his role as Pedro, a.k.a. Potato.
Q: You went to an acting school in Cabo San Lucas. I don’t think many Canadians know that there’s an acting school there, The Henrry Lopez Estudio.
A: It’s not really an acting school. It’s more like they give you a script and support you as more as much as they can. That’s why I went to Vancouver, to sharpen my acting skills. Because honestly, with Henry (Lopez) you would have to come prepared one way or another. And that’s how you would do it. They didn’t teach techniques. So yeah, that’s why I came to Vancouver.
Q: Did you know what to expect when you came to learn acting in Vancouver?
