Vancouver card company offers icebreaking questions to make first dates less frightful
Has Valentine’s Day inspired you to put yourself out there? If so, why not show up to that first date with some help?
Now, that doesn’t mean a wing person a table over set to speed-dial you if you give the abort mission signal. While that may have its merits why not give the date a fighting chance with a set of the conversation starting Swoon cards? Swoon is a deck of 52 cards that will help you to find out faster if the person in front of you is the person you’re looking for. You can skip conversations about the weather and go a bit deeper.
The cards are divided into four categories. Fire Starter is designed to open the conversation. Feels finds out what is important “in their heart.” Thoughts considers values and viewpoints, and finally Spicy, well, that one asks the questions that most people are afraid to ask.
“We wanted to create a physical product that would get people off their screens and sort of be an icebreaker to use in those first few months of dating,” said Savannah Golding, who founded the Vancouver-based company with Reza Houshmand. “You really get to know your partner. You get to know their love language, their goals, what makes them happy.”
