Vancouver Film School announces 2023 Women in Game Design fund

In celebration of International Women’s Day the Vancouver Film School (VFS) announced its 2023 Women in Game Design scholarship.

The school has partnered with some of the top game studios in the industry to deliver five full-tuition scholarships and one partial scholarship. The scholarship fund is valued at over $150,000 and will be offered from May 2023 until January 2024.

“VFS is thrilled to expand upon our previous Women in Game Design Scholarship by partnering with top-tier game studios in Vancouver to offer scholarship and internship opportunities multiple times throughout the year,” said VFS’s head of Game Design and Programming for Games, Web & Mobile Christopher Mitchell in a statement.

“This expansion provides more chances for aspiring women game designers to train for and gain valuable work experience in the game industry. We’re delighted to support the career development of these women and ensure women’s voices are heard in the next generation of games.”
