A woman is dead and a man has been seriously injured at an apartment in Surrey on Sunday evening.

At 6:06 p.m., Surrey RCMP was called to the scene by the Surrey Fire Service, who were there responding to a fire alarm and sprinkler activation.

Surrey fire found the man and woman inside the apartment, in the 14900-block of 10A Avenue. The man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The building was evacuated and it was confirmed there was no fire. All residents of the apartment complex have been temporarily displaced, due to the sprinkler activation.
