Bentley Bentayga’s new hybrid trims aim for 43 km of electric range
Bentley has announced two new trims in its Bentayga lineup, the S and Azure, that both receive hybrid powertrains and enhanced range targeting around 43 kilometres (27 miles) on electric power alone. Both will be powered by a 3.0L V6 engine, electric motor, and new 18.0-kWh battery that Bentley says can go from “zero-emission EV mode to thrilling full-throttle acceleration.” Bentley claims the electric motor alone boasts 134 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, helping the Bentayga Hybrid run to 100 km/h from zero in 5.3 seconds.
The S Hybrid is basically the greener version of the Bentayga S, but comes with “enhancements in the engine bay,” meaning an exhaust note in the cabin, likely from a sound symposer. The S Hybrid gets black side sills and door mirrors, dark-tint headlamps, 22-inch wheels, as well as a Speed-style tailgate spoiler.
