Cami to its autoworkers: Ontario may ease COVID rules, but we’re not
Workers will still be required to either prove they’re fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption to work at GM
The Ontario government may be easing its COVID-19 restrictions, but area automaker Cami Assembly is not following suit any time soon.
Workers at the vehicle assembly plant in Ingersoll have been told General Motors still wants workers to be full vaccinated to stay on the job, even as the Ontario government announced it is easing COVID requirements across the province.
“GM is informing us that failure to follow the instructions will be considered a health and safety violation and subject to a minimum five-day suspension for the first offense,” Van Boekel wrote.
