Drunk driver pulls U-turn in front of Sudbury police officer
19-year-old turned around on somebody’s lawn
An episode of erratic driving that included pulling a U-turn using a residential lawn while drunk last summer has landed Chase Guitard a fine and licence suspension.
“You clearly demonstrated significant impairment,” Ontario Court Justice Louise Serre told Guitard, who was attending court via a telephone link. “Impaired driving is a choice. You chose to drink a copious amount of alcohol and get behind the wheel of an automobile.”
As the officer got closer to the Nissan, the vehicle suddenly did a U-turn using a lawn on the street and then headed toward Orange Grove Drive.
