Hyundai’s Grandeur Heritage Series restomod is like a hipster Bond car
Hidden watch compartments, a piano function, and an all-electric powertrain
Hyundai has released the latest piece in its Heritage Series, and it’s another looker.
Changes made in the interior were more tech-forward, including the replacement of the dashboard’s dials and buttons with a familiar modern flat-screen layout. Designers included a unique vertically oriented, piano-inspired soundbar control that’s located in front of the throttle-style gear selector and controls the 18-speaker sound system. It can be used as an actual piano, presumably only in PARK.
The burgundy velvet and Nappa leather seats with secret watch-storage spaces in the armrests also don’t look like anything coming out of any automaker’s factory lineup today. Interior overhead lighting includes what the brand calls an “infinity mirror” lined with bronze-coloured LEDs meant to imitate 1980s-era audio equipment.
