Head of ICBC takes over as president of B.C. Ferries

Nicolas Jimenez will be leaving his role as president of ICBC and taking on the same role at B.C. Ferries, the ferry corporation announced Tuesday.

Jimenez has been named president and CEO of B.C. Ferries effective March 6.

He was selected following an international executive search, according to B.C. Ferries board chair Joy MacPhail.

Jimenez is “the right leader at the right time” for B.C. Ferries, said MacPhail, in a statement Tuesday.

“He is a change leader with a proven track record of success. He is customer focused with a deep commitment to financial accountability and rate affordability.”
