IHIT called in after one man dead after shooting in Richmond

There was a heavy police presence in a quiet Richmond residential neighbourhood Thursday after a shooting in which one man died.

Police attended the scene in the 8000-block of Milner Road, south of Blundell Road near Gilbert Road around 5:45 p.m. and found one critically injured man, who died at the scene despite attempts to save him.

Images from the scene show a yellow tarp on the ground surrounded by orange cones and cordoned off with police tape.

About 10 minutes later a vehicle was found torched about five kilometres east on Blundell Road near Highway 99.

Integrated homicide investigators are now trying to determine if the vehicle is associated with the shooting.
