Metro Vancouver weather: Commuters warned to be careful during wintry Wednesday commute
A forecast for more wintry driving conditions on Wednesday morning has prompted a warning from the B.C. Ministry of Transportation.
On Tuesday evening, the agency said Environment Canada was forecasting wet snow mixed with rain, with local snowfall as much as four centimetres in higher terrain.
“Drivers are urged to use caution, avoid travel in poor weather conditions, prepare for delays and longer commutes, and ensure their vehicles are properly equipped with winter tires,” the ministry statement read.
Many commuters were caught unawares on Tuesday morning when un-forecast snow began to fall across the region, leading to traffic problems.
