PSAC strike: Federal workers set to ramp up pressure at Aldergrove border crossing

Striking federal workers are set to escalate pressure on Ottawa by picketing at a B.C.-U.S. border crossing Friday morning

About 155,000 members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) have been on strike since April 19 over issues including wages and remote work.

But as the strike enters its 10th day with no deal in sight, striking workers in B.C. plan to ramp up job action by adding a picket at the Aldergrove-Lynden border crossing.

Pickets are expected to go up at 8 a.m. when the Lynden crossing to the U.S. opens.

In recent days, striking workers have put up pickets at other federal work places in Metro Vancouver, including the federal building at Library Square and the passport office at Sinclair Centre in downtown Vancouver.
