Restaurant review: Burnaby’s Birdies follows in footsteps of legendary Earls restaurant family

And now, third-generation Marshall is director of operations for Birdies, a new, more casual and youthful enterprise than Earls. At 28, he’s done the full Fuller, from training wheels at the dish pit, to busser, bartender, shift leader and management.

“I got to grow up within Earls and had so many awesome learnings, personally and professionally. I learned from the best,” he says. “Funnily enough, I’m the same age as Stan was when he and my grandfather started Earls.”

The name, Birdies, is from Fuller family lore.
