A retired North Vancouver elementary school teacher is facing sexual assault charges for offences that police allege happened in the 1970s and 80s.
Brian Moore, 83, was charged Wednesday with 12 sexual offences, including 10 counts of indecent assault on a male, one count of sexual touching of a person under 14, and one count of sexual assault.
Most of the charges stem from Moore’s tenure as a teacher at Upper Lynn Elementary school from 1970 until 1982. Police allege at least one of the sexual offences occurred in 2007, when he was no longer a teacher.
RCMP launched an investigation into Moore after receiving a complaint about him on June 14, 2022. He was arrested in August and his home was searched.
