Uber driver killed in East Vancouver crash was family’s sole breadwinner
The victim of a multi-vehicle crash in East Vancouver has been identified as Dilpreet Singh.
The Cadillac also struck a taxi with two passengers inside. The four occupants of the Cadillac, including the 17-year-old driver, were taken to hospital with injuries, including broken bones. Singh died at the scene.
According to GoFundMe organizer Harpreet Kaur Sandhu, Singh came to Canada in 2015 and was a hardworking young man who supported his family, a dedicated son and a loving brother.
“The family is in no stable condition to hold his funeral/rites as he was the only financial support for the family,” she wrote.
As of Wednesday afternoon, more than 800 people have donated, raising more than $47,000 of its $100,000 goal.
