Video of Vancouver mayor shotgunning beer at street party draws online cheers, jeers

Mayor Ken Sim had talked about bringing back Vancouver’s swagger, and in a widely-circulated video clip from a street festival on the weekend, he appeared to be doing his bit.

The nine-second clip posted on Reddit showed Sim, councillor Mike Klassen, and a third person on stage at the Khatsahlano Street Party on Saturday.

To whoops and cheers, the trio shotgunned beer as an announcer could be heard saying: “Shotgun city! Who says Vancouver’s no fun?”
