KEEP THE FAITH
After months and months of cancel culture and a laser focus aggressively pointing out what is wrong with us all, collectively and individually, it is easy to be distracted with what inherent good exists in this world. There will always be the flawed, the meek, and unstable souls, but for today, can we not celebrate a world where most hands are out, doors are open, relief is sent, and prayers of all faiths cry out for safety and peace? Where compassion rises above greed and protection of human life is paramount. I do not want to sound maudlin, but as despicable as Putin’s attack of a free country, the response is as just and hopeful as it should be. Sure, afterwards we will return to our angry corners and continue to castigate others, but let us never forget we are all so much better than that. Having needed some health-care assistance recently, I marvelled at the kindness of these men and women, to whom I was a stranger. Where do they find this compassion when they are overworked, risking their own health, to restore mine? With a commitment and kindness in their voice. Mankind is not done with itself yet. Keep the faith, it is around us every day.
(They are heroes to us all)
