Blue Jays reliever Anthony Bass rips airline for making pregnant wife clean up after kids
The last thing Blue Jays reliever Anthony Bass needed on Sunday afternoon for his young family returning home from the team’s opening home stand in Toronto was a flight attendant with attitude.
The proverbial popcorn was flying on Twitter Sunday afternoon after Bass took aim at United Airlines, saying his wife was forced to clean up a mess made by their daughter on a plane.
“The flight attendant gave her attitude,” Bass said following the Jays 8-1 loss to the Rays on Sunday afternoon. “My wife’s on her hands and knees cleaning up popcorn as soon as the flight’s up in the air.
“It’s the principle. She can take care of our kids. My wife is fine. After a long travel day with two little ones and being (22 weeks) pregnant, I feel for her.”
Bass said United responded to him after he addressed the airline via Twitter, mentioning the challenges his wife faced travelling with his two and five-year olds.
