Bundle of cash found at Coquitlam Ikea reunited with rightful owner
The bundle of cash found at the Ikea store in Coquitlam has been returned to its rightful owner.
Coquitlam RCMP has been searching for the owner of the money — amounting to hundreds-of-dollars in cash — found by a store employee on Sept. 11.
Two months later, the lost-and-found story got a happy ending when Pantelis Sarris, a Tri-Cities resident, showed up at the Coquitlam RCMP last Friday, proved ownership of the cash and was reunited with his money.
“This is the outcome that we hoped for and are very pleased to see,” said spokeswoman Cpl. Alexa Hodgins. “It’s really nice to see how the community came together to reunite Pantelis with his lost cash.”
In September, Sarris had shared the loss during the Weekend Regret segment with local radio station Jack FM. Pantelis told listeners that the bundle of cash fell out of his pocket while he was furniture shopping for his daughter.
