Burnaby RCMP seek witnesses after fatal motorcycle accident

Burnaby RCMP is seeking witnesses after fatal motorcycle collision Saturday morning.

A tractor trailer was driving northeast on North Fraser Way at about 11:20 a.m. and attempting to make a right turn onto Wiggins Street. The motorcycle attempted to pass the tractor trailer on the right, resulting in the collision. The 27-year-old male motorcyclist was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the tractor trailer remained on scene is co-operating with the investigation.

Police say speed was a contributing factor.

Burnaby’s criminal collision investigation team has assumed conduct of the investigation and is seeking witnesses.
