Canucks 6, Kraken 5: (SO): The true spirit of Christmas giving on full display
In the true Christmas spirit, it’s much better to give than receive.
The Vancouver Canucks gave the Seattle Kraken a gift goal to open scoring in the first period Thursday and then two more in a span of 10 seconds in the second stanza.
For that generosity, the Canucks were looking like they would receive their third straight home-ice setback and seventh in the last nine games at Rogers Arena.
Elias Pettersson had another thought to prolong the suspense.
His second goal of the night with Spencer Martin pulled for the extra attacker drew the Canucks even at 5-5 at 18:40. It was his fifth point of the night, fifth shot and plus-4 rating. Not bad for a guy who missed two games and was absent for six days on the ice with the flu virus.
