Couple abandons baby at check-in after airline asks them to buy the child a ticket

A baby was abandoned at an airport check-in after a dispute took place between a couple and staff over having to buy a separate ticket for their child.

The incident occurred at a Ryanair check-in desk at Tel Aviv’s Ben-Gurion International Airport in Israel.

According to airport authorities, the pair, travelling on Belgian passports, arrived late for their flight to Brussels and navigated through the airport anxiously.

The airline said the couple failed to pay for the child’s ticket in advance.

“These passengers travelling from Tel Aviv to Brussels presented at check-in without a booking for their infant,” a Ryanair spokesperson said.
