Escaped killer Rabih Alkhalil stays on top of B.C.’s most wanted list
Wolfpack gangster Rabih Alkhalil, a convicted killer twice over, remains on top of B.C.’s most wanted list with a $250,000 reward posted for his capture after his dramatic escape from a Metro Vancouver jail last summer.
Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers issued a Valentine’s Day appeal for information on Alkhalil’s whereabouts and that of five other fugitives.
Alkhalil escaped from the North Fraser Pretrial Centre on July 21 with the help of two accomplices who posed as contractors to gain access to the Port Coquitlam jail.
Weeks later, a B.C. Supreme Court jury convicted him in absentia of first-degree murder in the 2012 slaying of longtime rival Sandip Duhre. He was also convicted of conspiring to kill Duhre and gangster Sukh Dhak, who was gunned down in November 2012. Alkhalil was already serving life for the June 2012 murder in Toronto of Johnny Raposo, shot to death as he watched soccer at a Little Italy café.
Linda Annis, executive director of Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers, urged the public to provide information about where Alkhalil and the other five fugitives might be.
