Father and son stabbed in Surrey Memorial Hospital
One man has been arrested after a violent, unprovoked assault in a Surrey hospital.
Surrey RCMP said it happened at Surrey Memorial Hospital just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.
A father and son were in the hospital’s care assessment and treatment zone — where emergency-department patients are triaged — visiting a patient when they were assaulted.
“It appears it was an unprovoked assault, and the parties were not previously known to each other,” said Surrey RCMP spokeswoman Cpl. Vanessa Munn.
The 51-year-old and 16-year-old’s injuries were not life threatening.
