Man arrested with gun after dropping ammo in Abbotsford hospital emergency room

A suspect is being held in custody after a man walked into Abbotsford Regional Hospital’s emergency room with a gun.

Police were called just after 11 p.m. on Monday after someone waiting in the emergency department told hospital security about a man dropping a round of ammunition onto the floor.

When officers searched the suspect, a firearm was found.

Abbotsford resident Jonathan MacDonald, 50, has been charged with possessing a firearm without a licence and possession contrary to an order. MacDonald is being held until his next court appearance.
