Metro Vancouver snowfall live: Snowstorm shuts down Lions Gate Bridge northbound, flight and ferry cancellations

A late-season snowstorm on B.C.’s South Coast is causing a messy morning commute for drivers, flight and ferry cancellations, and several school closures.

The heavy snow has shut down the northbound lanes on the Lions Gate Bridge just after 9:30 a.m. due to several spun-out vehicles on the roadway and the Stanley Park Causeway.

The closure starts at Georgia and Denman Streets, said DriveBC.

Drivers are advised to expect major delays. Those who need to travel between Vancouver and the North Shore should take the Iron Workers Memorial Bridge instead.
