Photos: A tour of West Vancouver’s famous ‘party house with a view’
You get to 6689 Nelson Ave. in West Vancouver through a long driveway that was blasted out of the rock of Telegraph Hill. On one side is a steep, rocky hillside, the other drops down a cliff through the trees to the frigid waters of Horseshoe Bay.
After walking about a kilometre, the dense rock and woods opens up to the rocky waterfront of Tyee Point. The view is simply jaw-dropping, a supernatural vista of water, islands, mountains and sky.
But there is an exception — a small house that is completely covered in graffiti.
The house has been in the news of late, after Mark Teasdale posted a photograph of what he dubbed “a party house with a view” on Twitter. It went viral, as did a Postmedia News story on the house.
Owner Payam Askari offered to give a tour of the property, along with his family’s side of the story. So Wednesday, we went out.
