Prince Harry’s sensational memoir Spare already a hit in B.C.
There’s intense interest in Tuesday’s release of Spare — Prince Harry’s authorized biography — across B.C. public libraries and bookstores.
According to a search of local public library systems, there have more than 3,200 holds placed on paper, audio and electronic copies of the book at the Vancouver, Victoria, Fraser Valley and Surrey public libraries.
This includes 871 holds for the Vancouver Public Library, 881 at Surrey Libraries, 851 at the Fraser Valley Regional Library and 617 at the Greater Victoria Public Library.
Local booksellers are also preparing for the launch of what the New York Times has dubbed “the most anticipated and divisive celebrity memoir of all time.”
Mary-Anne Yazedjian, special projects manager for Surrey headquartered Black Bond Books, said that all the independent bookseller’s seven Metro Vancouver locations have sealed boxes in-store that can only be opened on Tuesday morning.
