Surrey RCMP searching for missing 12-year-old girl

The Surrey RCMP has called for public help in locating a 12-year-girl missing for the past week.

Early Sunday morning, Surrey RCMP Watch Commander S/Sgt. Duane Honeyman put out a news release stating Akila Geng was last seen at 4 a.m. on May 15 in the 9100-block of 136A Street.

“She has not been seen or heard from since. It is unusual for Geng to not be in contact. Police and family are concerned for her health and well-being,” Honeyman said. He did not state when the RCMP were notified that Geng was missing.

Geng is 5’1″ and weighs 110 pounds. She has dark brown braided hair and was last seen wearing a red sweater, red shirt, red shorts and white and blue shoes.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of this person is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477.
