Two charged with second-degree murder in death of Maple Ridge man

Two people are facing second-degree murder charges in the homicide of a Maple Ridge man.

Surinderjit “Jack” Singh was found dead in a Maple Ridge parking lot in the 21800-block 122 Avenue on March 4.

The 55-year-old’s death was considered suspicious and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called in.

At the time, initial evidence indicated Singh arrived at the parking lot the night before his death, said police. IHIT was also investigating a light grey Hyundai Elantra found in a separate location but believed to be related to the homicide.

On Friday, police arrested Kimberley Buitenweg, 33, and Joseph McWilliams, 44, both of Maple Ridge. They are expected to appear Monday in Port Coquitlam provincial court.
