Vancouver police arrest man in English Bay sex assault investigation
Vancouver police are investigating after a sunbather was sexually assaulted at English Bay beach on the weekend.
Police say a woman in her 40s was sunbathing at the popular downtown Vancouver beach around 7:30 p.m. Sunday when she was approached by a man who claimed to be a massage therapist.
“The man began touching the woman, then sexually assaulted her before walking away,” said police in a news release Wednesday.
The woman called 911 and reported the incident. Police were able to find the suspect, who was last seen walking north towards Stanley Park, and arrested him.
The investigation continues, says police. Charges have not been laid
